This CommScope NETCONNECT course is approximately 75% hands-on and prepares the individual to make many of the design criteria decisions associated with local cabling. The student will progress through a step-by-step process from initial design review to final design presentation. Particular attention is paid to the design parameters and guidelines of the ANSI/TIA and ISO/IEC standards, as well as the decisions that the designer must make regarding network platforms and technologies, cabling architectures, and media selection.

This is a comprehensive CommScope NETCONNECT course that includes approximately 70% hands-on training with the appropriate tools and test equipment. Each student will gain the experience needed to certify and document twisted pair and fiber optic cabling installations in accordance with current ANSI/TIA-568 industry standards. Each student will also gain experience troubleshooting common indoor cabling problems.

This course includes an overview of local cabling systems, an overview of ANSI/TIA and ISO/IEC industry standards, and discussion and practical practices on coarse entry, installation, management, and termination of twisted pair and fiber optic cabling systems. The course is about 65% of practical training. Students will complete and test the wire card of unshielded and shielded cable lines, as well as terminate and continuity - test various fiber optic connectors and mechanical splicing.
